Piglet Mindset® School Visits

Our program is entertaining and fun, but the primary goal of our Piglet Mindset School Visits is to emphasize and reinforce Piglet's message and lessons of positivity, resilience, compassion, and kindness.

Classroom and school visits begin with a short Powerpoint presentation. We follow with a live tap signal demo by Piglet and his deafblind brother Georgie. We do a short Q & A if there's time.

The format is flexible, adaptable, and can be customized to different size groups and number of presentations requested. We realistically can do 3 one hour presentations in one day.

Zoom, Facetime, or Google Meet Sessions are a virtual alternative to an in-person school or classroom visit. Virtual Visits with Piglet and his pack are adaptable to a wide range of applications throughout the school year. Virtual sessions are a great addition to an end of the school year Pink Party.

ANIMAL ADVOCACY & PIGLET'S RESCUE FUND

Piglet was rescued from a hoarding situation in Georgia when he was a newborn puppy. While Piglet was fortunate to have found a devoted loving family, there are many dogs like him still looking for their forever homes. Through our social media pages, Piglet has become an ambassador for disabled rescued animals.

Our advocacy efforts and Piglet's Rescue Fund were set up to:

  • Educate about and advocate for rescued animals through our social media pages, Piglet Mindset® educational program, as well as webinars on a number of veterinary topics

  • Encourage spay and neuter of dogs and cats in light of the pet overpopulation problem

  • Motivate individuals to adopt rescued pets, especially those who are disabled

  • Provide funding to rescue organizations that focus on disabled dogs and other animals

  • Support for The Disabled Pets Project, a comprehensive resource for veterinarians, pet parents, and rescuers who care for disabled pets. The website is disabledpets.org.

  • The fund is supported by direct donations as well as a portion of all Piglet merchandise sales.

How did he know to jump off the dishwasher door without hesitation?

Hint- he's done this years ago and he remembers exactly where the floor is! It's called mapping and remembering!🩷

Did you think he could do it?
We had so much fun in Portland walking along the w We had so much fun in Portland walking along the water on Tuesday that we went back tonight for another walk. The dogs were very happy.

Zoey is feeling better after a few doses of antibiotics for her UTI. She's still not back 100% but she is much improved.

This little trip was designed around visiting friends. But our friends all have many dogs which doesn't work well for our dog reactive bunch.

So it's really important that we balance our socializing with friends with giving the dogs fun activities throughout the day.

Here's what we did with our dogs tonight. I think they enjoyed their walk along the water, a lot!
We're on a mini vacation in Maine. Our dogs have b We're on a mini vacation in Maine. Our dogs have been very happy visiting our friends, taking walks, and staying in hotels.

I travel with first aid supplies for emergencies but there are some things I can't manage without vet hospital intervention. So when we travel I make sure I know where the closest vet hospital is.

This morning our tiny gal Zoey woke me up at 6 AM trembling and trying to jump off the very high hotel bed.
When I took her off the bed into the bathroom, she unfortunately had very bloody urine on a pee pad. And then she started straining when I took her outside. She was very uncomfortable.

We are visiting my vet school friends in Maine so we were very lucky to have exceptional care right away.
We sent out a urine sample for testing and she had an ultrasound of her abdomen.

She's been started on antibiotics and antiinflammatory medication. Hopefully she'll start to feel better in the next day or so.

If you know me, you can probably guess that this is a major "thing". I can treat other people's pets as a veterinarian. But when my own dogs are sick- not so easy.

Hopefully ZoZo M will start to feel better soon.🩷
Our deaf blind boys LOVE to travel. The more unfam Our deaf blind boys LOVE to travel. The more unfamiliar the surroundings, the better.

We arrived in Maine late last night and they went right to work learning about the hotel room.

Would you expect something different from these small disabled boy dogs?

Piglet is deaf and blind. He sleeps so soundly.
Lately he's been finding new places to plant himself.
This is where he put himself this evening.

Have a good night all.🩷
We've started new training routines for our deaf m We've started new training routines for our deaf mostly blind poodle Ruby. She has poor impulse control and severe reactivity which manifests in loud high pitched out of control screaming.

It doesn't happen at home, just when we are out in public.

We are going back to the basics which she loves. And she's got a whole group of dog sibs to work with bc they also love to do this kind of training.

How'd they do?

Stay tuned for further Ruby progress.
Spontaneous and sweet minute with our precious lit Spontaneous and sweet minute with our precious little Annie. Notice her tail wagging towards the end.

Annie's the dog that hangs in the background. You rarely see her featured bc she doesn't like her picture taken.

So this is a rare moment of the real Annie caught on video.

Yes, she is this adorable and sweet. And yes, she was dumped in a field in Bakersfield, CA when she was a tiny puppy. She found herself at a Kern County animal shelter, not a great place to be!

We are going to Maine next week. Here's a fun memo We are going to Maine next week. Here's a fun memory from last October, 2025 when our little travel team drew a crowd at @llbean

Yes I am crying bc I miss little Evie so much. I'm very happy to have these sweet memories.

I'm realizing that I won't try to set something like this up again bc it will be so so sad. I don't even think ill@want to visit the same places we always have bc it will be yet another reminder of losing Evie. But it was really fun when our travel team of 5 were having so much fun together for so many years.
