ANIMAL ADVOCACY & PIGLET'S RESCUE FUND

Piglet was rescued from a hoarding situation in Georgia when he was a newborn puppy. While Piglet was fortunate to have found a devoted loving family, there are many dogs like him still looking for their forever homes. Through our social media pages, Piglet has become an ambassador for disabled rescued animals.

Our advocacy efforts and Piglet's Rescue Fund were set up to:

  • Educate about and advocate for rescued animals through our social media pages, Piglet Mindset® educational program, as well as webinars on a number of veterinary topics

  • Encourage spay and neuter of dogs and cats in light of the pet overpopulation problem

  • Motivate individuals to adopt rescued pets, especially those who are disabled

  • Provide funding to rescue organizations that focus on disabled dogs and other animals

  • Support for The Disabled Pets Project, a comprehensive resource for veterinarians, pet parents, and rescuers who care for disabled pets. The website is disabledpets.org

  • The fund is supported by direct donations as well as a portion of all Piglet merchandise sales.

PIGLET AND GEORGIE'S KINDNESS CLUB

Piglet and Georgie's Kindness Club has been created to encourage children to bring Kindness Campaigns to their communities. Examples of Kindness activities include running a food drive and delivering the food to local food pantries, or raising awareness for animal rescues by collecting dog and cat food and other supplies for their local animal shelters and rescue organizations. Some children might be interested in organizing book drives where they raise funds and support so they can purchase and donate books to head start programs, community day cares, school libraries, and individual children.

There are so many ways to bring kindness into the community.

We hope Piglet and Georgie's Kindness Club will motivate everyone to remember to be kind!

Still having trouble wrapping my mind around the r Still having trouble wrapping my mind around the reality of losing my Gina. The empty spaces are haunting and so so sad at times. Waiting for them to fill in a bit but will always keep her space in my heart and mind.

The other dogs are managing but still very sad. Especially her bff Deanie. He has the support of all the others which is a big help.

There you are sweet precious puppy.
When we say our little deafblind dog Piglet is one When we say our little deafblind dog Piglet is one of a kind, this is one reason why! Check out his fancy footwork.🩷🐾🩷🐾🩷
When our deafblind puppy Piglet wasn't even our do When our deafblind puppy Piglet wasn't even our dog yet, he had a tiny pale pink nose. It was his trademark. He was a pink puppy. Who knew that he would become an ambassador for disabled rescued dogs and a symbol of positivity and kindness for thousands and thousands of children every year?

At home he is Piglet, the barking needy little guy who needs to be held and brought wherever we go. But he is also adorable, interacts with everyone just like any other dog, and we all get a really good boost of happy having Piglet in our family, every single moment of every day.

His nose isn't pure pink anymore. It has earned a freckle a year, marking the work it has done to keep Piglet engaged in his world, bringing his beautiful message to others, expanding his reach each of his 8 years.

Here's a collection of early Piggy pics and videos as a reminder of what he was like as our baby boy. He took walks- no stroller, he raced around the yard bc he was a playful puppy, he bumped into the other dogs, and he forged friendships with each of them. He was part of a big sweet dog family, and he still is.

He isn't as puppyish anymore but he is still our precious pink puppy who we feel so grateful to be able to share with his friends around the world.

Thanks to our cousin Ari for the first two foster baby Piglet pics. They were taken before we adopted the tiny pink man.

Welcome to our many new followers. We'd like to re Welcome to our many new followers. We'd like to re-introduce our dogs so everyone is up to date on who they are and what's so special about them.

For Senior Sunday, meet Dean. Deanie is a 14 year old rat terrier, lab, golden, shepherd mix rescued on a rural county road in AR when he was 5 months old. He was there for three months before he made his way to Connecticut, where we were not going to adopt him, but of course a couple of family members fell in love with him and he stayed. TBH- no one was applying for him. Have you ever heard of black dog syndrome? That was Dean's situation.

Deanie has always been sweet, clean and adored by everyone who meets him. His little girl dogs worship him. His friendship with Gina was heartwarming.

Dean's favorite things to do are being a couch potato with his little girl dogs, taking walks at the beach, going for rides in the car, and meeting new people friends.

He was always active and playful until recently when his arthritis started interfering with his mobility. We still do everything that he loves to do, but in moderation. In fact, he self limits because he knows that he can't take the walks that he used to. This is very unusual for a dog. They usually don't understand their limits.

Dean was very upset when he lost his good friend Susie four years ago and he is equally distressed after losing Gina two weeks ago. He is a very sensitive, emotional dog. We are helping him feel better with lots of attention, treats, and kisses.

We love you,Deanie.🩷

When my deafblind boy dogs come to work with me at When my deafblind boy dogs come to work with me at the vet hospital, they nap in their little carriers. But when I'm done, the party begins.

They both know how to party hardy with lots of treats. They might be deafblind but they are well aware of their friends, treats, and how to give and receive lots of love!

And believe it or not, they differentiate between social and medical visits at the vet hospital!
